COM傑作選

In 1967, editor Shohei Chujo curated a selection of the finest short manga published in Osamu Tezuka's legendary magazine COM. This two-volume anthology brings together stories from 1967 to 1971, featuring works by pioneering artists such as Fujio Akatsuka, Hisashi Sakaguchi, and Daijiro Morohoshi. The collection also includes excerpts from the Gura Kon manga school, roundtable discussions, and essays by famous manga artists and critics.

The stories range from surreal comedies and psychological dramas to eerie mysteries and science fiction tales. Each piece reflects the experimental spirit of the late 1960s and early 1970s, a transformative period in Japanese manga. As readers journey through these diverse narratives, they encounter themes of isolation, societal change, and the human condition, all rendered in distinctive artistic styles that defined an era.
