Paul Rusch: His Life and Dream

In 1925, Paul Rusch, an American missionary, arrives in Japan to assist with reconstruction efforts after the Great Kantō earthquake. Through his work with the YMCA and the Anglican Church, he becomes a professor at Rikkyo University in Tokyo, forming deep bonds with his students. When the Pacific War breaks out, he is forced to leave the country.
After the war, Rusch returns to Japan as a GHQ officer, devastated by the loss of many former students. He vows to dedicate his life to helping the people of Kiyosato, a highland area in Yamanashi Prefecture. He raises funds in the United States, builds schools, churches, and hospitals, and establishes Japan's first highland dairy farm. Despite facing resentment from some Japanese due to the war, he works to heal the strained relations between the two nations.
