太平洋にかける虹
Mitsuko, a schoolgirl, befriends Yu-Lian, a half-Chinese transfer student who is being bullied by her classmates. One night, Mitsuko discovers an old American doll named Emily, hidden away in her home. The doll was given to a Japanese child during a cultural exchange in 1921, but was later concealed during the anti-Western doll burnings of the war period, saved by a brave young girl who turns out to be Mitsuko's grandmother.
During a show-and-tell at school, Mitsuko shares the story of Emily and the doll's journey, encouraging Yu-Lian to stand up against the bullying. Through the tale of the doll's survival, Mitsuko and Yu-Lian find a connection that helps them face their challenges together.
