A silent experimental film from 1932 presents four brief, disconnected vignettes. The first segment shows shadows receding to reveal a puddle on the ground, as automobile and bicycle tires pass through it, creating ripples. In the second, cutout shadows of various shoes—from elegant heels to worn boots—are seen walking across a surface, each step leaving a fleeting imprint. The third vignette is a flurry of geometric forms: triangles, circles, and squares dance and collide in a rhythmic, abstract sequence. The fourth tells a story with playing cards: a spade courts a heart, pushing away a club, but the club eventually returns, beats up the spade, and wins the heart, ending the film with a playful triumph.
