Are you here, Ser Brunetto?

Dante, a university student in a fictional modern Japan, shares his life with his cat, also named Dante. His town has recently imposed a ban on alcohol, disrupting the usual social rhythms. One day, while wandering through the city, Dante encounters a mysterious figure who seems familiar, stirring memories of a past life.

As Dante delves deeper into this encounter, he begins to recall fragments of his previous existence as the poet Dante Alighieri, wandering through the circles of Hell in the Divine Comedy. The figure he meets is Ser Brunetto Latino, his mentor from that infernal journey. Now, in a world without alcohol, Dante must confront the echoes of his past and the nature of his current reality, blurring the lines between the historical and the contemporary.
