#Zombie sagashitemasu unveils episode 2 synopsis: Yuu on alert for a 'visitor'

The #Zombie sagashitemasu anime has released the official synopsis for its second episode, titled "Nakama sagashitemasu" ("Looking for Companions"). The episode will focus on the group's new life in a home improvement center, their new refuge, and Yuu's unease over a "visitor" who is about to arrive.

The series premiered on October 3, 2026, as part of TV Asahi's IMAnimation block and other Japanese networks. Along with this preview, the production team has also shared early images from the episode and a promotional video on the website.

The story begins with Aki, a young woman who leaves her village to fulfill a promise and find her father. Along the way, she stumbles into a world full of zombies and ends up teaming up with other survivors. The main cast is led by Kyōri Nemoto as Aki and Yuzuka Nukui as Sakura.

A breather before the storm

According to the preview, Aki and her companions take advantage of the calm to get organized: they gather water, divide up tasks, and turn the home improvement center into a temporary home. Amid that routine, Aki mentions she wants to develop a film her father left behind, a detail that promises to pull on the story's emotional thread.

The peace is broken when the group heads to a river in search of water and ends up playing without a care in the world. Everyone relaxes, but not Yuu: she knows someone will arrive soon and can't shake that thought. That "visitor" is the episode's big mystery.

The first episode already made it clear the series doesn't beat around the bush: Aki and the others had to rescue Yuu and Sakura from a horde of zombies. Now it's time to see how they adapt to a tense calm, the kind that in survival stories usually serves as the prelude to chaos. Something similar to what we felt in the early stages of School-Live!, but with a more adventurous tone.

What's next

The second episode will air in Japan on October 10, 2026, and there's currently no official confirmation of licensing for Spain or Latin America. We'll have to keep an eye on the usual platforms to see if anyone picks it up for simulcast.
