The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom is now on Prime Video
The J.C.Staff anime based on Nao Iwamoto's manga premieres in October with English and Hindi dubs.
The The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom anime now has a platform. Prime Video will stream it exclusively worldwide during October 2026, with English and Hindi dubs available from day one. J.C.Staff handles the adaptation, Kiyoko Sayama directs, and Shinzō Fujita writes the scripts and series composition.
The story begins in the Kingdom of Marronnier, surrounded by seven neighboring nations with strained relations. General Baribara makes an unusual decision: to send her seven sons as knight commanders on diplomatic missions. Each brother has a distinct talent and a personality that clashes with the others. Together they represent their kingdom abroad, and separately they face cultures they don't understand, political tensions, and trials that pit each one against his own limitations.
There's one more element driving the plot: the missions connect to Baribara's past and to the anomalous qualities her children possess. And while the seven travel, the princess of Marronnier secretly leaves the palace and joins one of the brothers. A twist that points to more than one internal conflict in the episodes ahead.
A historical fantasy manga with a decade of history
The anime adapts the manga written and illustrated by Nao Iwamoto. Shogakukan has published it in Flowers magazine since September 2016, classified as historical fantasy. That's ten years of serialization before making the leap to television, something you don't often see in adaptations of this profile. The source material has more than enough time for J.C.Staff's production to avoid relying on cheap filler.
J.C.Staff is a studio I know well. It has delivered solid seasons in fantasy and action, but it has also produced uneven adaptations when the schedule gets tight. The point in its favor here is Sayama in the director's chair, a veteran who has already handled projects with multiple protagonists and family dynamics. If Fujita manages to condense the missions without turning each journey into a standalone anecdote, the series can work.
What to expect from the Prime Video premiere
Prime Video is betting on anime with simultaneous dubs and global premieres. The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom follows that line: a worldwide exclusive on the platform, with no regional waiting windows. For Spanish-speaking audiences, only English and Hindi dubs have been mentioned so far. There's no confirmation of Spanish subtitles or a Latin American dub.
The premise recalls ensemble works like Arslan Senki or the diplomatic journeys of Spice and Wolf, though with a lighter tone and a large cast from the start. Seven brothers with defined talents is a structure that can become predictable if each episode just introduces a new kingdom and a problem of the week. The manga has had time to develop its characters; the anime needs to decide how much of that fits into one season.
The music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa, who has worked on series like Houseki no Kuni and Revue Starlight, is a good sign for the tone. If the direction takes advantage of his range, the missions can carry emotional weight without falling into easy melodrama.
It remains to be seen how many episodes this first batch will have and whether Prime Video will release the full season or air it weekly. Those details haven't been confirmed yet. What is clear is that October brings an adaptation with plenty of material and a studio that knows how to move in this space. The question is whether it can keep seven protagonists from getting lost along the way.
