Gundam Build Divers Arrives on Crunchyroll in India with English Subtitles

Gundam Build Divers is now available to watch on Crunchyroll in India with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The news was confirmed by the platform itself on October 9, 2026, giving fans of the franchise in that region official access to one of the most beloved series in the Build line.

The story follows Riku Mikami, a teenager who enters Gunpla Battle Nexus Online, a virtual reality game where players control their own Gunpla and battle opponents from around the world. Riku doesn't go in alone: he's joined by his friends Yukio and Momoka, aiming to improve their skills and take on experienced players.

Everything changes when he meets Sarah, a mysterious player who doesn't have a Gunpla of her own. From there, strange things start happening inside the game, like the appearance of the Mass-Divers, players who use illegal software to strengthen their models. Riku and his allies form their own group, the Build Divers, and end up caught in a conflict that threatens the game itself.

A Gundam Built for the Video Game Era

The series premiered in Japan in April 2018 and ran for 25 episodes. Shinya Watada directed the anime, with Noboru Kimura handling scripts and Juri Toida on character design. Production was handled by Sunrise, the historic studio behind the franchise.

What makes Gundam Build Divers interesting is that it shifts away from the physical model-building competitions seen in series like Gundam Build Fighters. Here, everything takes place within a shared virtual space, giving it a very different feel—closer to online games than in-person tournaments.

That said, don't expect the classic wartime tone of 1979's Mobile Suit Gundam. The Build line has always been lighter, designed to celebrate Gunpla and fan creativity. In this case, it also adds the fantasy of entering a virtual world and fighting with your own model.

What's Next for the Franchise?

After this series came Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE in 2019, which continued exploring that universe. For now, the arrival on Crunchyroll in India is one more step toward making the franchise officially available in more regions.

There's still no information on whether this anime will come to Latin America with Spanish subtitles or dubbing. The news only confirms the India release with Japanese audio and English subtitles. We'll have to keep an eye on the platform's announcements for our region.
