Retro Bear Performs Zom 100 Opening with First New Song in Four Years
Kairiki Bear's project sings 'No Reaction' for the zombie anime premiering in January 2027.
The music project Retro Bear, led by Vocaloid producer Kairiki Bear, will handle the opening theme for Zonbi no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai. The song, titled "No Reaction," is their first new track in four years, according to the anime's team.
The series premieres in January 2027 on AT-X. The announcement came alongside the main visual and first trailer, which showcase the tone of a story where a zombie apocalypse coexists with a protagonist who isn't trying to save anyone.
The opening is sung by Retro Bear with vocals credited as "unknown Vo: 0in." The digital release date for "No Reaction" will be announced at a later time. The ending theme, "Tsukikage," is performed by Itsuka.
An Adaptation with Solid Numbers
The original work began as a web novel in 2013, written by Uraji Rokurou. In 2016, it received a print edition under Frontier Works' Nox Novels label, and in 2021, the manga adaptation by Masuda Chihiro began, which is still running in COMIC Raguchuu.
The numbers back it up: the novel has surpassed 9.5 million cumulative downloads, and the volumes, including spin-offs, have sold over 750,000 copies. The anime is produced by studio Acca effe together with Frontier Engine, directed by Fujishiro Kazuya with scripts by Hirao Yasushi.
The story follows Takemura Yuusuke, a man who discovers that zombies don't attack him. As the city crumbles, he uses that immunity to move freely in a world without rules. The work is marketed as a "zombie panic action" that crosses survival and unfiltered desire.

Takemura Yuusuke will be voiced by Katou Wataru. He is joined by Higashi Yuno as Fujino Mizuki, Itou Rikako as Kurose Tokiko, and Miyake Marie as Makiura Sayaka. Sound direction is by Jinbo Naoshi, music by ISAO, with music production by Frontier Works.
Kairiki Bear is no stranger to the scene: his Retro Bear project already provided the opening for Revenger, the 2023 samurai series. Now he returns with a theme designed for a zombie anime that, judging by the promotional material, doesn't take itself too seriously.
"2013, Uraji Rokurou began publishing the novel on a story site. In 2016 it was released in print. In 2021 the manga arrived."
The wait until January 2027 leaves room to learn more details about the opening. For now, the main visual and trailer already give an idea of how Acca effe will adapt a manga that mixes gore, humor, and a protagonist with very clear priorities.
