Gundam GQuuuuuuX arrives in Latin America: a new era for the franchise in theaters

The Gundam universe keeps expanding, and this time, fans across Latin America will be able to enjoy the latest installment of the iconic franchise on the big screen: Gundam GQuuuuuuX. Through an official statement, Konnichiwa Festival confirmed that the film will arrive at Cinépolis theaters in Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. In addition, the Cinemark chain will screen the film in Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, and Paraguay, further expanding its reach in the region.

For those who don't want to miss the chance to see this movie in theaters, pre-sales are already available. In Mexico, Cinépolis will offer a wide variety of screens for its release, demonstrating the growing demand for the saga in the Latin American market.

What makes this installment especially striking is the involvement of Studio Khara, the prestigious studio behind Evangelion, which is collaborating on a Gundam production for the first time. Directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (FLCL), with a screenplay co-written by Tsurumaki himself and the legendary Hideaki Anno (Evangelion), Gundam GQuuuuuuX promises to deliver a cinematic experience that fuses the best of both franchises.

This release is not an isolated case: in recent months, Konnichiwa Festival had already surprised fans with the arrival of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom to theaters in the region, consolidating the franchise's growth in Latin America.

What is Gundam GQuuuuuuX about?

In a space colony, Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student, lives a seemingly normal life until her fate crosses with Nyaan, a war refugee who introduces her to the world of illegal mobile suit duels, known as Clan Battle.

Under the alias "Machu", Amate becomes a fierce fighter aboard her GQuuuuuuX (pronounced "G-Quaks"). However, her combat routine takes an unexpected turn when she comes across a mysterious Gundam, sought by both the space forces and the police. Inside this mecha is Shuji, an enigmatic pilot whose appearance will change the course of her life.

Thus begins a new era in the Gundam universe, with a story that blends action, intrigue, and the classic essence of the franchise, but with a fresh aesthetic and narrative that promise to captivate both veterans and new viewers.
