However, due to the copyright laws of the time, the high cost of film reels, and the common practice of overwriting tapes for reuse, both the audio and video tapes of this 1971 special have been lost. As a result, the original animated music video is considered lost media, surviving only in written descriptions and the memories of those who saw it. Its disappearance highlights the fragility of early broadcast materials.
