Nao Tōyama is this week's DJ on USEN's program
The voice actress presents her new single "OVER THE RAINBOW" on "Artista Self-Portrait," the 15-minute slot on the a-FAN FAN channel.
USEN's "Artista Self-Portrait" program already has its star for this week: Nao Tōyama. The voice actress and singer takes the mic on the a-FAN FAN channel's slot to talk about music in the first person, right after the release of her new single.
The format is the show's usual one: 15 minutes in which the guest artist shares her own impressions of her work, with no interviewer involved. Tōyama arrives with "OVER THE RAINBOW," which went on sale on October 7 under the FlyingDog label.
The single has two editions. The first limited edition A costs 7,700 yen including tax, and there's an exclusive Animate set in limited production for 15,000 yen. These details confirm that Tōyama's musical side is just as active as her voice acting career.
What you'll hear on "Artista Self-Portrait"
The show's concept is exactly what its name suggests: each week, an anime voice or artist builds a self-portrait through their music. They talk about what's behind their songs, the projects they're involved in, and recording anecdotes. No external questions: just the person and their memories.
The slot airs several times a day — at 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, 9:30, 15:30, 18:30, and 21:30 — and refreshes every Monday. The rotation means Tōyama's talk can be heard at different times throughout the week.

In these formats, music and personal experience blend together: the voice actress can share what's behind the single without filters, something that fits the show's intimate tone.
A voice that needs no introduction
For those of us who follow anime, Tōyama is one of those voices we recognize instantly. Her career as a voice actress and her work as a solo artist have gone hand in hand for years, and appearances like this let us see the more musical side of her work.
USEN's program isn't a typical interview: it's a 15-minute monologue where the artist presents herself through her songs. That's why the self-portrait name fits so well. Tōyama will have that space to talk about OVER THE RAINBOW and what it means to her at this point in her career.
The single has been available since October 7, and those who want to hear Tōyama talk about it can tune in to a-FAN FAN all week. The program's next update arrives on Monday, as always.
