First trailer for the Death Stranding anime, coming to Disney+ in 2027
Kojima Productions presents Death Stranding Isolations, a new story with traditional 2D animation and Hideo Kojima as executive producer.
Kojima Productions has released the first trailer for Death Stranding Isolations, the animated series based on Hideo Kojima's video game. The preview comes with new story details and confirms its Disney+ release in 2027.
The series is set in the Death Stranding universe, but it will tell a completely new story with no connection to the two games. The animation will be traditional, hand-drawn 2D, handled by the lead animators at E&H Production.
Four characters outside Bridges
Kojima Productions has detailed the premise in a statement. While Sam Bridges crosses North America to save the country, other characters face their isolation on their own. The description mentions an old man seeking salvation outside the connection network pushed by Bridges, a warrior who wants to start a world of constant combat, a boy with a grudge against Bridges, and a girl who embraces solitude.
«On the brink of humanity's and the world's end, their fates and hopes converge, and another Death Stranding story begins. And now another explosion arrives…»
The project has Hideo Kojima as executive producer. Takayuki Sano directs, and Ilya Kuvshinov handles the original character designs.
The trailer is the first real look at the series since its announcement. Kojima Productions has not yet confirmed the release month within 2027 or the episode count.
