Heroman

Joey is an orphaned teenager living with his grandmother in Center City, California. He works hard at a diner to make ends meet, but he feels like he doesn't fit in anywhere. When he sees a commercial for a new toy robot called the Heybo, he becomes convinced that owning one will change his life for the better.

Unable to afford a new one, Joey picks up a broken Heybo that a school bully threw away. He tries to fix it and names it Heroman, but it refuses to work. One day, a bolt of lightning strikes the toy, transforming it into a giant robot. Just in time, Heroman awakens to help Joey save his friend Lina, a cheerleader who has been kidnapped.
