Ichigo Momomiya is on a date with her crush Masaya Aoyama when a strange light merges her DNA with that of an endangered Iriomote wildcat. She soon develops cat-like traits and the ability to transform into a pink magical girl with cat ears and a tail. She learns she is part of the Mew Project, an experiment meant to create biological weapons against Chimera Anima, alien parasites that infect animals and turn them into monsters. An accident caused the DNA of five endangered animals to be injected into Ichigo and four other girls instead.
