Makoto Hitsujiya transfers to a new high school and meets Takehiro Kokudou, a strange classmate who introduces him to Bugs: phenomena that produce specific outcomes only when a precise sequence of actions is performed. These hacks can be as trivial as making bird droppings appear on a sidewalk after pressing a certain combination of vending machine buttons, or as extreme as lifting weights beyond normal human limits.
At first, experimenting with Bugs is fun and games. Hitsujiya and Kokudou grow closer as they exploit these anomalies that transcend the laws of science and humanity. But when Kokudou uses a hack to go back in time, things take a dark turn.
Hitsujiya attempts to do the same, and his curiosity leads him to a bizarre set of conditions for a ridiculous Bug that can change his future. If a hack's directions are not followed precisely, the results can be devastating.
