In a bleak, feudal-futuristic world, a brutal hierarchy governs all warriors: the one who holds the title of Number 1 samurai rules the world, and only the warrior designated as Number 2 is permitted to challenge them. Afro Samurai has taken up the mantle of Number 2, driven by a single, burning purpose: to exact revenge on the gunman who holds the Number 1 title, the man who murdered his father years ago.
His quest is far from simple. As the Number 2, Afro himself has become the ultimate target.
