Zutto Tomodachi

A music video brings to life the gentle melody of "Zutto Tomodachi" by Keiko Utsumi, originally featured on NHK's Minna no Uta program. The visuals follow two close friends as they share simple, heartfelt moments: playing in sunlit fields, walking home together, and laughing under the rain. Their bond is portrayed through soft, everyday scenes that highlight the warmth of companionship and the innocence of youth.
As the seasons change, the friends begin to walk different paths. One of them moves away, and the distance starts to test the strength of their connection. Letters and memories become the threads that keep them close, but new routines and unfamiliar faces slowly reshape their lives. The music video captures the bittersweet process of growing up, where holding on and letting go become two sides of the same feeling. Through its tender imagery, it asks whether a promise of eternal friendship can survive the passage of time.
