Gender Equality

A woman trapped inside a restroom pictogram creates an alter ego of herself. This new self escapes the confines of the sign and begins to inhabit other pictograms throughout the building: the emergency exit, the elevator, the stairs, and more. Each symbol is a small world, and she must learn to share these spaces with the men who already occupy them.

As she moves from one pictogram to another, she witnesses how each space is designed and used differently by men and women. The emergency exit pictogram shows a man running, while the woman's version is absent or secondary. The elevator pictogram depicts a man standing, with no female counterpart. Through her journey, she challenges these silent rules of representation, seeking to create a more equal visual language. The film explores the subtle ways gender inequality is embedded in everyday symbols and public spaces.
