Urashima Tarou (1952)

Urashima Tarou, a kind fisherman, rescues a turtle from children and is rewarded with an invitation to the Dragon King's underwater palace. There, he enjoys a brief stay with the princess Otohime, but soon misses his mother and returns home. Before leaving, Otohime gives him a forbidden box, the tamatebako.

Back in his village, Tarou finds that decades have passed. His home is gone, and he recognizes no one. Overcome with confusion, he opens the tamatebako, releasing a cloud that instantly ages him into an old man, illustrating the irreversible passage of time.
