In 1962, a short animated music video was produced for the song "Up Up Appliqué" by the vocal group Dark Ducks. It was broadcast on NHK's long-running program Minna no Uta, a show that features animated clips accompanying songs. The video likely depicted simple, colorful visuals typical of the era, designed to appeal to a wide audience.
The clip is now considered lost media, as no known copies of the broadcast or any recordings have survived. Its exact animation style, characters, and storyline remain a mystery, leaving only the song and the memory of its existence. This makes it a notable piece of early Japanese television history, sought after by collectors and historians.
