Ichigo Momomiya is an ordinary high school student with a simple dream: to fall in love. Her life takes an extraordinary turn during a date with her crush, Masaya Aoyama, when she is struck by a mysterious light. She soon discovers she has been infused with the DNA of an Iriomote cat, granting her feline powers and transforming her into a magical girl. As part of the Mew Project, Ichigo must now find the other girls whose DNA has been merged with endangered species. Together, they are tasked with defending the world from the Chimera Anima, alien-infected creatures threatening humanity. All the while, Ichigo must balance her thrilling secret life with her everyday relationships.

With the alien threat momentarily subdued, Ichigo Momomiya and the other Mew Mew girls try to enjoy a normal life. Ichigo is especially happy, having finally confessed her feelings to Masaya Aoyama and begun a relationship with him. Their peace is short-lived as the Chimera Anima return, forcing the heroines back into action. During a fierce battle, Ichigo finds herself in mortal danger, only to be saved at the last moment by a mysterious figure known as the Blue Knight, who vows to protect her. As the conflict escalates, the girls must navigate their newfound personal lives while bearing the heavy responsibility of defending the world.
