Subaru Natsuki, an ordinary high school student, is suddenly transported from a convenience store to a fantasy world. Shortly after his arrival, he is attacked by thugs but rescued by a beautiful silver-haired girl named Satella, who is searching for her stolen insignia. To repay her kindness, Subaru offers to help in her quest, and they soon locate the item. However, a dark force ambushes them, and both are brutally killed.
