Dot

A single dot appears on a blank white screen. It begins to move, leaving a trail behind it. The dot explores the space, growing and shrinking, changing color and speed as it interacts with its own environment. This is an independent animation created by Suzuki Shiniichi in 1971.

The dot's journey becomes a meditation on form, movement, and perception. Without any narrative or characters, the film relies entirely on the visual evolution of the dot, creating a hypnotic and psychological experience. The simple premise unfolds into a complex exploration of space and time, challenging the viewer's expectations of what animation can be.
