The director, who has never had a boyfriend, creates her first imaginary boyfriend to explore the gap between her childhood perceptions of sexuality and her current understanding. This animated documentary trilogy follows a love affair from its beginning to its end, based on a diary of self-observation and a detailed accounting of dating expenses.
Through this personal experiment, the film blurs the line between imagination and reality, examining how we construct relationships and intimacy. The project was created as an undergraduate work at Tokyo University of the Arts.
