Shaka no Shougai
Princess Maya, an ancient Hindu noblewoman, dreams of a white elephant and gives birth to a prince named Siddhartha. Raised in a luxurious palace, shielded from the world's hardships, he grows up unaware of suffering. At age twelve, he ventures outside and encounters poverty, sickness, and death for the first time, deeply troubling him. Despite his father's efforts to keep him content with wealth and a beautiful wife, Siddhartha cannot ignore the pain he has witnessed.
Driven by a profound sense of compassion, he abandons his royal life and family to seek a solution to human suffering. He studies under various ascetics and practices extreme self-denial, but finds no answers. Finally, sitting beneath a bodhi tree, he enters deep meditation. After overcoming inner temptations and doubts, he attains enlightenment, becoming the Buddha—the awakened one—and discovers the path to liberation from suffering.
