Rachel Gardner, a thirteen-year-old girl with lifeless eyes, wakes up in the basement of an abandoned building with no memory of how she got there. Lost and disoriented, she wanders through the dark corridors until she encounters a man covered in bandages who calls himself Zack. He is a murderer wielding a grim-reaper-like sickle, and he too is trapped inside the building.
Zack makes Rachel a strange promise: he will kill her, but only after they escape together.
