In 2011, a special alternative version of the music video for the song "Retronix Symphony" by MOP of HEAD was released. This version, titled "Betsu Vector Version," was directed and animated solely by Souta Sugahara, one of the three directors of the original music video. Sugahara brings his own artistic vision to the piece, creating a distinct visual experience that differs from the collaborative original.
The video presents a unique interpretation of the track through Sugahara's animation style, which emphasizes vector-based graphics and dynamic motion. It explores the song's themes and imagery from a fresh perspective, offering viewers a new way to experience the music. The animation is characterized by its fluid movements and abstract visual elements, which complement the electronic soundscape of the song.
As a standalone special, this version stands apart from the original music video, providing an alternative take that highlights Sugahara's individual creative direction. It serves as a showcase of his animation skills and his ability to translate music into compelling visual storytelling.
