In a worn-out, decaying film reel, a western-style hero finds himself trapped in a classic silent comedy scenario: a villain has tied a beautiful woman to the railroad tracks, and she cries for help. The hero must spring into action to rescue her, just as in the serial action films of the past.
However, the film itself is in terrible condition—blurred, smudged, and full of scratches. As the hero fights the villain, he must also struggle against the deteriorating film stock, which threatens to derail his efforts at every turn.
