Nagasaki no Kouma

A young boy wanders through the smoldering ruins of Nagasaki in the immediate aftermath of the atomic bombing. Amid the devastation, he discovers a lone foal that has miraculously survived the blast. The two form a silent bond as they navigate the wreckage, searching for food, water, and a path to safety.

Their journey toward the mountains is fraught with peril. They encounter the charred remains of buildings, the cries of the injured, and the lingering threat of radiation. The boy must protect the vulnerable foal while grappling with his own trauma and loss. Together, they press forward, driven by the hope of reaching a place untouched by the destruction.

As they climb higher into the hills, the landscape slowly shifts from ash and rubble to sparse greenery. But the memory of what they left behind—and the uncertainty of what lies ahead—weighs heavily on them. Their survival depends on trust, resilience, and the fragile connection between a child and an animal in a world forever changed.
