Long before memory, strange beings existed that resemble neither plant nor animal. In ancient times, people revered these simple and bizarre creatures and called them "Mushi." As they began to affect human lives in inexplicable ways, belief in their existence returned. Ginko, a Mushishi, travels through a world where the boundary between the visible and the unseen blurs. He encounters people cursed by circumstance and others maintaining a fragile symbiosis with the Mushi.
