The anime idol group Aqours releases a special music video for their second single, "Koi ni Naritai AQUARIUM." The video presents a self-contained, animated narrative that moves beyond a simple performance piece. It follows the members as they navigate a world of shimmering, dreamlike aquatic imagery, which serves as a metaphor for the depths of their emotions and aspirations.
Within this visually rich setting, the story explores the universal theme of longing—specifically, the yearning to transform simple admiration or friendship into something deeper and more profound. The characters' interactions and the evocative lyrics paint a picture of vulnerability and hope, as they grapple with the desire to confess their true feelings.
The animation style fluidly blends the group's energetic performance with symbolic, story-driven sequences, creating a cohesive and emotionally resonant short film. The focus remains on the emotional journey and the poetic expression of a wish that feels both incredibly personal and beautifully universal.
