げんばのじょう -玄蕃之丞-
In the cone-shaped land of Kikyougahara in Shin Province, a gentle girl named Hana lives with her family, especially her beloved great-grandmother Chiyo. One day, a traveling entertainment troupe called the Natsugawa Genzaemon Troupe arrives in the village, and the villagers welcome them warmly.
After their performance, the troupe's leader, Genbanojou, spots Hana with some oyaki, his favorite food, and transforms into a fox in his excitement. It turns out that Genbanojou and his companions, O-Natsu and Shinzaemon, are foxes who have taken human forms. Genbanojou hastily negotiates with Hana, offering to grant her one wish in exchange for keeping their secret. Hana's wish is to let her grandmother see the cherry blossoms.
