The Kagerou Project begins with two interconnected stories. In 'Kisaragi Attention,' the immensely popular idol Momo Kisaragi struggles with the overwhelming public scrutiny and her own perceived lack of talent, doubting her place in the world. Her life changes when she encounters a mysterious group known as the Mekakushi-dan, offering a potential sense of belonging she never had.
'Children Record' delves into the project's core mythology. It reveals a phenomenon known as the heat-haze, which has long been granting strange, red-eyed powers to select children. These abilities, however, come at a great cost, often bringing more suffering than benefit. Despite the despair surrounding their condition, these afflicted children continue to struggle, clinging to a hope for a better future.
