A young family goes about their daily routines—eating fried fish, leaving food uncovered, and washing clothes in the river—unaware that these actions allow invisible germs to spread. Flies contaminate meals, and improper hygiene creates a chain of infection that threatens not only their home but the entire community.
To stop the outbreak, the film demonstrates essential preventive measures: disinfecting with saline water, wearing masks when going outside, and airing futons in sunlight. It warns that one person's carelessness can lead to illness spreading across Japan, urging everyone to adopt proper hygiene habits.
