Nurumeta gets TV anime in 2027

The manga Nurumeta by Kokamumo will get an anime adaptation. The series will air on television in 2027, according to the announcement that also reveals the main staff and a first visual.

The work is published in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara MAX magazine and follows four girls: Kurumi, an android; Chiaki, her guardian; Sakina, calm and at her own pace; and Shiyuki, the only one with some common sense... or so it's supposed. Together they live an unpredictable daily life.

The jump to anime comes with a staff that draws attention. Direction is handled by Kai Igarashi, who debuts as a TV series director after leaving his visual mark on projects like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Character designs are by Shin Ogasawara, known for his work on Pokémon: Twilight Wings, and series composition falls to Tatsuya Takahashi, of The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls.

The studio in charge of animation is Soine, the same behind mono and Kamiina Botan, Yoheru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana.

A cast of personalities that promises chaos

The premise of Nurumeta doesn't need great artifices: an android, her guardian and two friends live together amid everyday situations that twist in unexpected ways. The 4-koma manga plays with that brief structure to launch gags and absurd moments without pause.

The author, Kokamumo, thanked readers with a direct message: "To all readers, a huge thank you. I look forward to the day when I can deliver the images of the clumsy, comical and heartwarming days of Kurumi and the others."

For his part, Igarashi commented that he felt something begin when he encountered the work. "That was Nurumeta. I will do my best to deliver a fun anime," he wrote.
