Love Live! Nijigasaki: Final chapter premieres on February 5, 2027
The trailer shows the 12 members and a girl, with the song 'Dreaming Free' playing and new scenes.
The film Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai: Kanketsu-hen Saishuushou now has a Japanese release date: February 5, 2027. The announcement came with a new trailer and the official synopsis, confirming the end of the Nijigasaki girls' story.
The preview shows the 12 school idol club members and a girl watching them. With the song Dreaming Free playing, lines from characters like Ayumu Uehara, Kasumi Nakasu, and Karin Asaka can be heard. "I'm no longer afraid of change," says one of them.
The film will screen in theaters across Japan, including Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo and Namba Parks Cinema in Osaka. The full list of theaters is already available.
The end of a story that began in 2020
Love Live! Nijigasaki is the third entry in the Love Live! franchise, which started with the motto "a story we all build together." The anime series had two seasons: the first in 2020 and the second in 2022. In 2023, the OVA NEXT SKY hit theaters, and since then the story continued with a trilogy of films.
The first chapter of Kanketsu-hen premiered in 2024 and the second in 2025. Now, with the final chapter, the arc that began after the events of NEXT SKY comes to a close.
The School Idol GPX final in Tokyo
The official synopsis reveals that the girls travel through Okinawa, Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe before arriving in Tokyo, where the final round of the School Idol GPX takes place. That's where the club's last stage begins.
Ayumu Uehara, voiced by Aguri Oonishi, and her friends shine on stage while Yuu Takasaki, played by Hina Yomiya, supports them harder than ever. The story focuses on the moments that have shaped each of the members.
The trailer makes it clear that this entry will be an emotional send-off for fans of the series. The 12 girls appear with determination, each with her own feelings, while Yuu watches from the audience.
Advance tickets and streaming of chapter 2
The second round of advance tickets goes on sale on October 23 at participating theaters and online stores like Major. They include a random die-cut clear card from 13 designs.
Animate and Gamers stores will offer a special version with a mini acrylic plate as a bonus. There will also be a complete set with all 13 cards for those who buy online.
Meanwhile, chapter 2 of Kanketsu-hen has been available for streaming since October 17. It can be watched on Bandai Channel, U-NEXT, and DMM TV.
The official Love Live! YouTube channel will keep the archive of the live program where all these announcements were made available until October 22.
