The Blue-Eyed Bride manga tops 100 million yen in a month

The success of the Mechacomic Original title confirms the strong moment for historical romance in digital manga.

The Blue-Eyed Bride: A Cold Marriage That Turns into Love Through Words surpassed 100 million yen in monthly sales during September 2026. The announcement came on October 14 from Mechacomic, which publishes the title under its original label.

The figure cements this manga as one of the strongest titles in the Mechacomic Original catalog, the brand through which the platform produces its own stories. It is no small feat: we are talking about a digital market where competition is fierce and very few titles reach that level of revenue in such a short time.

A period story that hooks readers

The plot takes us to Taishō-era Japan, in Kobe. There lives Tsubaki, a young woman from the Arishima family who faces rejection from everyone because of her blue eyes. Her father was a foreigner and her mother came from a noble family that had fallen on hard times. When both die, she is reduced to a life as a servant in her own home.

Everything changes when she is told she must marry Shiga Sōichirō, a wealthy old man with a reputation for being crude and lacking manners. The marriage is a business deal: the family only wants the money. Desperate, Tsubaki sees a single way out: if she can leave that house, perhaps she can escape to England. But when she arrives before her fiancé, she discovers that the man waiting for her is nothing like what she was told.

The story is a manga adaptation of a novel originally published on the E☆Everysta platform. The original version is titled Aoi Hitomi no Hanayome: Kotonoha Kasanete Koi ni Naru, and the comic adaptation is handled by Nekotoro, under the G☆Girls label.

Historical romance keeps delivering

What makes this title special is its commitment to period romance with a heroine who starts from absolute adversity. There is no magic or fantasy elements: the conflict stems from social standing, loneliness, and an arranged marriage that turns into something different once words begin to flow between the protagonists.

The polished artwork and the unhurried pacing with which the relationship between Tsubaki and her husband is built are two of the aspects most praised by Japanese readers. It is an approach reminiscent of other successful period stories in digital manga, where family drama and the emotional growth of the heroine tend to be the main driving force.

Mechacomic highlights that the title can be read in both vertical scroll format and the traditional page format, something common on its platform. That makes it easier for each reader to choose how they prefer to move through the story, especially on mobile devices.

For now, the announcement focuses on the Japanese market. There is no information about a possible license for Latin America or which publisher might bring it in Spanish. That said, with these numbers, it would not be surprising if a Latin American publisher set its sights on it soon.

Mechacomic Original continues looking for artists for new projects and boasts of having created several hits within digital manga. The Blue-Eyed Bride is the latest proof that its production model keeps delivering results.
