The webtoon 'Exijo la aprobación del nuevo matrimonio' will get an anime in 2027
TROYCA is handling the animation, and the main voices have been revealed: Yoko Hikasa, Ryohei Kimura, Tomoaki Maeno, and Reina Ueda.
The fantasy romance Exijo la aprobación del nuevo matrimonio (Saikon Shōnin wo Yōkyū Shimasu) is making the leap to anime. The TV adaptation will premiere in 2027, according to the production team, which has unveiled the first promotional video, character designs, main cast, and the studio responsible all at once.
The work is a Korean webtoon written by Alphatart, with art by SUMPUL and adaptation by HereLee, published on LINE Manga. The story follows Navier, an empress who has given everything for the Eastern Empire and her husband, Emperor Sovieshu. When he becomes infatuated with a concubine and asks her for a divorce, she doesn't fall apart: she responds by demanding to marry Heinrey, the prince of the western kingdom. From there begins a story of revenge, power, and second chances.
The Japanese cast brings together very well-known voices. Yoko Hikasa plays Navier, Ryohei Kimura plays Heinrey, Tomoaki Maeno plays Sovieshu, and Reina Ueda plays the concubine Rashta. Hikasa and Ueda appeared together years ago in K-On!, and seeing them now in such opposing roles has its appeal. Kimura, for his part, has already more than proven that he excels at characters with hidden depths.
A team with experience in ambitious dramas
Directing duties fall to Tetsuya Yanagisawa, who debuted with Kannazuki no Miko and has worked on titles such as Berserk of Gluttony. The script and series composition are by Akiko Inoue, screenwriter of I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss. Character designs are handled by Jun Nakai, known for Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo and NieR:Automata Ver1.1a.
Music is by Yuki Fukasawa, and animation is handled by TROYCA, the studio behind Aldnoah.Zero and Re:CREATORS. Production is coordinated by HAYATE. With this team, the series aims for a polished finish, something to be appreciated in a genre where designs and palace settings matter so much.
The announcement comes with the Korean live-action series adaptation already on the way, confirming the work's pull beyond manga. For now, there is no concrete premiere month or confirmed platform for the anime, only the 2027 window. No actual animated footage was shown in the first teaser either, which focused on introducing the characters and the tone of the story.
We'll have to keep an eye on the coming months for more details. For now, the project starts on a solid foundation: a strong cast, a skilled studio, and a story that has already hooked readers around the world.
