The mafia goes after Nia Liston in episode 3: synopsis and preview

The third episode of Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston now has a synopsis and screenshots. The series, which adapts the light novels Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston: Byoujaku Reijou ni Tensei shita Kamigoroshi no Bujin no Kareinaru Musouroku, has been airing since October 6 on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS Nittele with two consecutive cours. The episode is titled "After the Curtain Falls on the Stage."

The story was coming off a high point: Nia had just triumphed in a stage play in the capital. Her maid Rinokis finally thought she would have her to herself, but Sharo shows up to spend the night. And it's not a whim. Sharo is worried because Nia had promised to meet up with the mobsters she already took down in the past.

Meanwhile, the mafia boss starts making moves. His target is Nia. She convinces Sharo, slips away from Rinokis's watch, and heads straight to the hideout. Waiting for her there is Anzel, the boss's bodyguard and the wielder of a mysterious weapon.

A third episode that turns up the pressure

The episode's structure is the classic one for this kind of story: after showing off on stage, it's time to descend into the underworld. What's interesting is that Nia doesn't react to the threat; she goes looking for it. That fits the character: a god-killing assassin reincarnated in the body of a sickly young woman, who has lost neither her skill nor her will to fight.

The anime debuted in October with a two-cour season. The production had already released a second trailer packed with action scenes of Nia and several rounds of cast announcements. Among the confirmed actors are Yashiro Taku as Anzel, Hikasa Youko as Fressa, and Hino Satoshi as Gandolf Rogen.

Anzel's weapon, the big unknown

The synopsis doesn't clarify what Anzel's weapon is. It only says it's mysterious. That's the episode's hook: after watching Nia tear through mobsters without breaking a sweat, now a bodyguard appears who might be able to stand up to her, or at least give her a different kind of fight.

Episode 3 airs next week as part of the regular fall schedule. If the series keeps up the pace of the first two episodes, this clash with Anzel should set the tone for the rest of the first cour.
