San-X released a special video for Awawaneko, the character that joined the Rilakkuma anime during its current run. The clip arrives to celebrate episodes #27 and #28, which show the daily life of this purple cat.

The surprise doesn't end there: the narration is handled by Hikaru Midorikawa, a voice anime fans recognize instantly. He presents Awawaneko's charms in this video full of adorable expressions and moments.

San-X made the announcement through its official blog, where it also reminded viewers of the broadcast times and platforms where the series can be watched in Japan.

A new character in an anime that's already a classic

Rilakkuma is one of San-X's most beloved franchises. The current anime takes this relaxed bear and his friends into an animated world that steps away from daily routine, with a soft and comforting tone.

Awawaneko appeared alongside the broadcast of this new stage. Episodes #27 and #28 focus on its day-to-day life, and the special video condenses several of its sides: we see it with a hat and suitcase, cooking ramen, or with a surprised face. It's a character that's already turning heads.

The production is handled by Production I.G, with direction by Itazu Hiromasa in the first part and Kamakura Yumi in the second. The anime's main narration is by Ikuta Rira, who also performs the opening theme "stay with me".
