Kei Ichinose has practiced kendo since childhood with a single goal: to become Hikaru Mita's hero. The two were inseparable friends until Hikaru moved away, leaving Kei with a promise to protect her.

Now in high school, Kei and Hikaru are reunited, but their roles have reversed. Hikaru, now a skilled kendo practitioner herself, is determined to be Kei's hero instead. As they clash on and off the training ground, old feelings and new rivalries spark a sweet and competitive story.
