On a bright day, Shunta's older brother, a skilled potter, crafts a beautiful clay doll that resembles a girl and names her Nene. Shunta is so captivated by her charm that he secretly wishes she were a real girl. The next morning, a miracle occurs: Nene comes to life, moving and speaking on her own. She also discovers she has the power to create other living dolls simply by kissing clay figures.
Nene's newfound existence is soon disrupted by the arrival of a strange inventor who has created a male android. As these two artificial beings cross paths, their encounter sets off a chain of events that challenges the boundaries between life and creation, forcing Nene to navigate a world that is not quite ready for her kind.
