In a quiet suburban town, a group of elderly residents enjoys playing gateball, a sport similar to croquet. Among them is a retired detective who notices something odd about the recent death of a fellow player. The incident is initially dismissed as an accident, but he suspects foul play.
As he begins to investigate, he uncovers hidden grudges and secrets among the gateball players. The case takes a darker turn when another suspicious death occurs, forcing him to confront the possibility that a killer is hiding within the close-knit community. With limited time and resources, he must piece together the truth before the murderer strikes again.
