When the Heavens Smile

Takagi is a sweet but troubled high school student who hides his true feelings behind a cheerful facade. His best friend and classmate is Kumoi, a tall and intellectual guy who seems to be able to read Takagi's every thought. One day, Takagi notices a pencil sketch of a man hidden between Kumoi's notebook pages. The drawing bears an uncanny resemblance to Takagi's older brother, who passed away six years ago.

When Takagi asks about the drawing, Kumoi dismisses it as a random doodle, but Takagi can't shake the feeling that there is more to it. As the two boys navigate their daily lives together, a mysterious drawing surfaces, raising questions about the past and forcing them to confront their hidden feelings. They must decide whether to stick together or retreat into the safety of their secret fantasies.
