Shouji Tatsuhiko is a successful businessman who has everything under control, except for one thing: his next-door neighbor and childhood friend Niki. Niki, a manga author who writes under the pen name Kaoruko Goutokuji, has just landed his big break. However, he possesses an almost supernatural inability to take care of himself, relying on Shouji for even the simplest tasks.

As Niki's career takes off, his dependence on Shouji only grows, straining their long-standing friendship. Shouji must balance his demanding job with constantly looking after his helpless friend, while Niki struggles to prove he can stand on his own. Their intertwined lives lead to a delicate dance between frustration and affection, where neither can seem to function without the other.
