I Want to be Myself

Ookawa Taketo is in love with his Biology teacher, Tsuruoka. After confessing, he is rejected because Tsuruoka was once hurt by a student before. Despite this, Ookawa's determination and strong feelings push him to try and convince his sensei to give their relationship a chance.

This collection of seven short stories explores different shades of love and longing. A runner is confessed to by a star athlete kouhai, who then runs away before hearing an answer. A cool exterior hides growing feelings for a childish kouhai. A student wants to see his classmate's real smile. A widowed florist is pursued by his cheerful nephew, whose affection goes beyond family. And at a wedding, former classmates confront old crushes and new possibilities.
