Take Charge of My Heart unveils main trailer ahead of October 9 premiere
The Korean romantic comedy introduces Bo-bae, a screenwriter with electric powers, and Ho-rang, the only person immune to her shocks.
The live-action series Take Charge of My Heart now has a main trailer. Netflix Korea shared it on September 28, less than two weeks before the premiere, set for October 9. The preview follows Bo-bae as she meets Ho-rang, the only person immune to her electric powers.
Based on the web novel of the same name, the story is a romantic comedy with a premise as odd as it is appealing. Bo-bae Na (Su-bin Chae) is a drama screenwriter who, after being struck by lightning as a child, gained the ability to generate electricity. It is not a power that has brought her much luck in love: she has never had a proper relationship because getting close to someone means, literally, giving them a shock.
Ho-rang Baek (Young-kwang Kim), for his part, is a third-generation chaebol executive — heir to one of those family conglomerates that appear so often in K-dramas — with a more serious problem: the battery of his artificial heart is running out. The twist comes when he discovers that being near Bo-bae recharges that battery, and she discovers that her electricity does not affect him.
A three-month contract and a love triangle
The solution Ho-rang proposes is as practical as it is desperate: a three-month contract that includes physical contact to keep his battery charged before the next surgery. Bo-bae accepts, but not entirely out of altruism. She is writing a new script and uses the agreement to check items off her personal "romantic wish list," those experiences she has never been able to live because of her powers.
Things get complicated with the arrival of Eun-ho, a major star who turns out to be Bo-bae's number one fan. With him, the classic love triangle enters the scene, but with the added twist that one of the corners cannot touch anyone without frying them.
If the dynamic of "a person with a power that complicates their relationships" sounds familiar, it is similar to what we saw in My Demon or Doom at Your Service, but with a much lighter tone and a chemistry that depends on outlets and batteries.

Take Charge of My Heart began as a web novel serialized on Naver Series by Haebeon. There is no official English version yet, so those who want to read the original story will have to wait or make do with Korean. It is not the first time a web novel has jumped to live-action without an available translation, but it does leave international fans wanting more context.
The series arrives in the middle of a wave of Korean web novel adaptations, a goldmine that keeps growing. With a young cast and a premise that mixes fantasy, romance, and comedy, it aims directly at the audience that devours this type of story on Netflix.
The main trailer already makes the tone clear: scenes of Bo-bae sparking unintentionally, Ho-rang approaching without fear, and a contract that promises more feelings than clauses. On October 9 we will find out.
Does this mix of electric powers and a romantic contract catch your attention? I'll be reading you in the comments.
