Made in Abyss Announces Its First Art Exhibition at Seibu Ikebukuro

The event will feature two periods with different exhibits and merchandise, from October 24 to November 29.

Mariana García 2 October 2026

The Made in Abyss franchise finally has its own art exhibition. Akihito Tsukushi's manga celebrates its first showcase of original reproductions at the main Seibu Ikebukuro store in Tokyo, with two distinct periods and plenty of new merchandise.

The event, officially titled "Manga Made in Abyss Exhibition", will open its doors on October 24, 2026 and run through November 29. The organizers have split the experience into two blocks: the first runs from October 24 to November 11, and the second from November 13 to 29. There will be no access on November 12 because the pieces and some of the products will be swapped out.

If you want to see absolutely everything, you'll have to go twice. The organizers confirmed that the second half will include different material and additional merchandise, so it's not just a simple date adjustment.

What You'll See Inside

The exhibition will occupy the first floor and the basement of the Seibu Ikebukuro book building. Among the items on display are reproductions of manga pages that capture details normally lost outside the finished linework. There will also be photo spots recreating relics and iconic scenes from the series.

One important note: part of the material on display corresponds to stories that have not yet been adapted into the anime. If you're up to date with the manga, there will be no surprises, but if you only follow the animation, be careful with spoilers if you decide to attend.

Admission costs 2,500 yen (tax included), and the ticket comes with a gift: a replica of an old ticket, in one of five random designs.

The Merchandise Waiting for Us

The first wave of products is already confirmed and includes 11 items based on the manga and 10 based on the anime. Cover collectors are going to suffer: there's a keychain set featuring the cover illustrations from volumes 1 through 15. They're sold randomly for 550 yen each or as a complete box for 8,250 yen.

There will also be B3-size metal prints for 3,080 yen, featuring designs of Riko, Reg, Nanachi, and Faputa. The exhibition classics are all here: pins, acrylic stands, folders, and eco bags. One of the most eye-catching products is a giant desk mat of "Nana's Kitchen" featuring the cover of volume 13.

For those who enjoy cosplay or utilitarian fashion, there's a leather bucket hat with Nanachi's embroidered signature for 5,500 yen and two backpacks at 3,190 yen each — one Nanachi-themed and the other inspired by Bondrewd.

Ticket sales began on September 11 via Animate Ticket and at physical Animate stores starting September 21. On weekends and holidays, entry is by assigned time slot; on weekdays, a general pass is used. Same-day tickets will also be available at the venue, but with an exhibition this highly anticipated, it's best to secure them in advance.

This exhibition arrives just in time to accompany the release of the film Made in Abyss: The Mystery That Awakens, currently showing in Japan. It hasn't been confirmed whether the event will travel to other cities or if the merchandise will be available online later.

Would you like to see this exhibition come to Latin America? Or are you already planning a trip to Japan to see it? Let me know in the comments.
