Finally. After years of rumors, leaks, and fan-made builds, LEGO and Dragon Ball are officially joining forces. The first set from the franchise created by Akira Toriyama now has a release date, a price, and a show-stealing figure: Shenron, the wish-granting dragon.

The set belongs to the LEGO Icons line and arrives under code 11390. It will launch on November 4, 2026, priced at $179.99 in the United States. No scaled-down versions or timid nods: this is a major commitment to one of anime's most beloved franchises.

What's included in the LEGO Shenron and Goku set

The star of the set is Shenron, the dragon-serpent that appears when someone gathers all seven Dragon Balls. Building it requires 1,764 pieces, a number that already says a lot about the size and level of detail LEGO wanted to achieve.

Alongside the dragon comes a Goku minifigure in his kid version, from the early arcs of the story, when everything was adventure and tournaments. And of course, the seven Dragon Balls couldn't be missing to summon the character, just as the manga and anime tradition dictates.

It's a curious decision by LEGO. They could have gone with the Dragon Ball Z aesthetic, the most popular in the West, but they chose the beginning of it all. For those of us who grew up with the monkey-tailed Goku and the Flying Nimbus, it's a direct hit of nostalgia.

A collaboration that was a long time coming

The news doesn't come out of nowhere. In recent years, LEGO has built an enormous catalog of sets based on video games, film, and television. But anime was always a pending subject. There were Super Mario, Sonic, and Star Wars sets, while Dragon Ball fans kept building their own Shenron with loose pieces.

Now the wait is over. And the question that remains floating in the air is inevitable: how far will this partnership go? Dragon Ball is just the tip of the iceberg in Toei Animation's catalog. If the set performs well, it wouldn't be surprising to see One Piece, Sailor Moon, or Saint Seiya turned into Danish bricks.

LEGO Japan has already published the launch video, and the first images show an imposing Shenron, with that serpentine pose that looks straight out of a manga panel. The Goku minifigure, with his orange uniform and his Power Pole, completes a set that aims to become a collector's item.

For now, all that's left is to wait until November 4. And cross our fingers that the price doesn't skyrocket in Latin America, as often happens with this type of release.
